Ski, precisamos de dar um tempo. | Ski, we need a break.

A neve é fofinha.

Pronto.

And it actually went well in the first times. It was fun. I was walking as a duck, but yes, it was fun. Even the falls were fun. To fall in the snow? What’s the problem? The snow is fluffy. Yeahh… not really. When the back starts to hurt a lot, when you don’t manage to go up or down without your butt hit the ground, then it’s not that much fun. Just frustrating. And honestly, right now, a little bit scary to me. When it should be fun instead.

Yes, I know, I know, "You have to practice a lot until you do it well." But seriously, I do not feel like doing it anymore. At least for now. Maybe next year give I’ll give it a new chance. But for now, we’re on a break. I even took a course for beginners in order to lose my fears and start braking before hitting a tree 500 meters ahead of where I should have.

Yeah, I know, I know, I'm a bit dummy. But c’mon, I'm getting old… So please don’t demand I become an expert after I’m in my twenties (or thirties, cough, cough), when these guys from Norway are practically born with skis on their feet. (Absolutely true! See THIS!)

So, my dear ski, this is not goodbye, but I hope I won’t see you anymore this year. For now I need some “me time”.

Sabiam que . . . | Did you know . . . #5

People here say (and it is well documented by a cute picture) that the youngest human being able to ski by its own was 9 months. 9 months!!! When I was 9 months I couldn’t even walk (and now that I’m 28, I can’t even ski…). The nordic blood runs through their veins. They are born with “the gift”… Actually they say they are born with skis on their feet. And I kinda believe it!
