Faltou no meu Verão | What I missed during Summer

Solinho e calor.

Faltou-me ir para a beira-rio e deitar-me ao sol a ler.

How come, already September???

I have the feeling that this Summer has passed by like a speed boat. I had (real summer) vacation too early. So it seemed like everyone was going on holidays except me. Or worse, there are STILL enjoying holidays.

Well, I can’t complain much, we had a few good days in Oslo. Sunny and warm. But there were some thing I missed a lot in my Summer.

I missed warm days for at least three months.
I missed going to my hometown every weekend and melt like butter.
I missed to use sandals every day.
I missed to sunbathe and read by the river.
I missed to go to Algarve. Yes, even the crowds in Algarve.
I missed the outdoors cafes with Buondi chairs.
I missed to go for a walk on t-shirt after dinner.
I missed August with one more month of vacation left. Here in Norway, the kids are already at school and working hard. Very soon we’ll see Christmas lights.

Mental note for next year (which I already promised last year, but anyway...) – go on vacation later. The best part is that it's only nine months until next summer.

Sabiam que . . . | Did you know . . . #9

…
Mentirinha, não há nada. Acabei de inventar.

...there’s a Norwegian proverb saying: “If today’s a sunny day, leave work earlier and enjoy it in the park. You’ll never know when a sunny day will come again.”
…
Just joking. I’ve just invented it.

Vieste para ficar, Verão? | Summer, are you staying for real?

Is this Scandinavia? Really? 30 degrees, it said the thermometer today at 4.30 pm. THIRTY. What is this???

The sun shows up, the good weather comes, and they look like lizards, putting the shorts on and running to the parks. (I know that lizards don’t wear shorts, it’s just an expression, ok?) Like this:

Me inclusive, of course. Here it’s not good weather every day, but when it is, IT IS FOR REAL! Everyone gets out of work early, leaves pending stuff for tomorrow, and let’s go sunbathing! Who knows if tomorrow will be this good?

It’s such an happiness, that people get crazy and forget that throw hot ashes in the trash after a barbecue is not a good idea. Even if it’s a proper container. Because then it will begin to burn, and so on and so forth, and at the end the firemen have to come to visit the park.
