Música para os meus ouvidos | Music to my ears #1

A fazer beicinho no fim.
Mas derrete-me quase sempre o coração.

Vale a pena ouvir. Foi isto:

Even before (much before!) I look at Norway as a bit more than just the country where bacalhau was coming from, I used to listen to the cutie Silje Nergaard. Norwegian singer, of course.
Her songs have been “introduced” to me by a friend who loves jazz, and she was my company during long hours of study, when I was still at the faculty. She sings both in English and in Norwegian. And everytime she melts my heart. Good sound, good voice. Here you have two of my favorite songs from her, one in each language:

Some months ago, there was a TV show in Norway called “Hver gang vi møtes” (something like “Each time we meet”). I watched some episodes during holidays in Norway, when I was still having a “double life” between Portugal and Denmark. The idea was to get a group of famous singers together and to present different versions of songs from one of them in each program. One of those singers was Silje and another one Lene Nystrøm (who I talked about before, HERE). It happens that in the day Lene was the “queen”, Silje sang a great version, in my opinion, of “Barbie Girl”. It is worth a listen:

Aprender a língua | Learning the language #1

Televisão em casa – maravilha.

Canais portugueses – zero.

TV at home – great thing.

Portuguese channels – none.

Solutions – not to watch TV or make myself understand what they say.

Decision – watch TV and try to understand what they say.

Conclusion – it is not that easy to follow a TV show.

Overcoming the problem – watching the cartoons where they talk s-l-o-w-l-y and use simple and easy vocabulary.

Surprise – Egas and Becas are on TV!!!!!!!! Yupiiiiii!

Deception – here, Egas and Becas are Bert and Ernie, in accordance with the american version. And suddenly, I had that creepy feeling and though about Anita who became Martine.

Do Coração | From the Heart

Falta-me a minha gente. Falta-me o toque. Mas faltam-me. Falta-me a minha língua. Falta-me o português diário. Falta-me dizer “Bom dia”.
Nada.

I miss my people. I miss their touch. And I’m not even one of those who likes to show feelings very often. But I miss all that. I miss my language. I miss to talk portuguese daily. I miss to say “Bom dia”. I miss to talk about silly things. I miss to laugh loud and easily about silly stuff. I miss to express emotions with my body and my eyes.

Skype was the best invention ever. Ever. Plus the messages and the calls for free on Facebook and Watsapp. But NOTHING can substitute what and who I miss. Nothing.
