Portugal é liiiiindo! | Beauties of Portugal #1 - Vale do Tua

Andava eu por aqui a dizer que “A Noruega é liiindaa”. Sim senhor. Mas então e Portugal, meu rico país??? Então, Portugal também merece uma série “Portugal é liiindooo”!

Hoje para falar do Vale do Tua. Tinha que começar por um lugar da minha região. Há lá coisa mais linda?

Fui fazer o Trilho do Vale do Tua nestas férias (sim, sim, as férias já se foram…) e adorei! 13 Km ali a caminhar pelo monte, com paisagens espetaculares para o rio e para a velhinha linha do Tua, e passagem pela aldeia de Abreiro. O percurso está bastante bem sinalizado. Tirando, vá, logo ali ao início, em que a sinalização não corresponde exatamente ao que o mapa mostra. Mas é ir com atenção e ninguém se perde. É isto:

Foram cerca de 4 horas bem passadas, com paragem para merendar mesmo junto ao rio. O percurso é bastante fácil de fazer, mas dá jeito que não esteja um calor abrasador (o que nem sempre é fácil por aquelas bandas no pico do Verão).

Este é só um dos muitos percursos pedestres que se podem fazer na região este vale muito a pena e quero mesmo fazer outros. Podem saber mais sobre o Parque Natural Regional Vale do Tua AQUI e ver o encanto das paisagens que vi aqui:

I’ve been showing you some “Beauties of Norway” here in the blog, but no “Beauties of Portugal”. I guess it’s time to begin with it!

And I’ll start by writing about the “Tua Valley”. Tua is a river running in the Northeast of Portugal, the region I come from. I couldn’t find a better subject to start this topic. This region is beautiful.

So… I did the walking trail “Trilho Vale do Tua” this vacation (yeah, yeah, my holidays are already gone...) and I loved it! 13 Km walking with a wonderful view to the river and the old railway line (nowadays already closed), passing by the village of Abreiro. The trail is pretty well signalized, except for the first part, where the signs do not correspond exactly to what’s in the map. But if you pay attention – no chance to get lost! This is the trail:

It took around 4 hours to do it, including a break for a picnic by the river. The trail is easy enough to do, as long as it’s not insanely hot (very typical in this region in Summer time).
