A eles e a nós. Cantamos, dançamos, e os mais
velhos brincam com instrumentos. E eu aprendo umas musiquinhas em norueguês.
Mas o mais awesome de tudo? Estamos numa igreja (Protestante, é certo), mas
(quase) tudo é permitido lá dentro. Dar de mamar, mudar fraldas… Há lá coisa
mais natural que esta?

I’ve had already told HERE something I find
striking in the way Norway treats “new” mothers. Nearly a year of parental leave
(shared between father and mother) may both sound awesome and too boring. I have
to say I was afraid to feel “empty” in my head after a whole day taking care of
a non-talkative baby. But the truth is that we have something to do EVERY single
day, and we go out whatever the weather is.
Once a week, for example, we go to the church. Are
we going there to pray? No. To sing. Are we singing Gospel? No. Songs for
babies. Is it fun? Yes. A lot.
We started to go since my Portuwegian baby was 10 weeks old. He couldn’t see more than a meter
in front of him, but the music began to enter in his ears. Now, 3 months later,
he pays much more attention and I realize he recognizes some of the songs. It’s
only good for them. For them and for us. We sing, we dance, and older kids play
instruments. And I learn some songs in Norwegian. Win-win.
But the most awesome thing of all? We are at
the church (well… a Protestant church) but (almost) everything is allowed in
there. Breastfeeding, changing diapers ... Is there anything more natural than
this?
