minha opinião, a melhor parte!
a preparação. Quem a encontrar, recebe um presente! Faz lembrar a nossa tradição
Bacalhau agradece!

Risengrynsgrøt
(a rice porridge) is a d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s Norwegian tradition for cold days,
specially for Christmas. I love it! Traditionally, this dish was served on
Saturdays for dinner, but it can be eaten whenever the stomach calls for it. It
takes forever to make, because it has to boil and boil and boil and boil, but it’s
worth it a lot at the end! Try it and I’m sure you won’t regret! Well… if you
don’t care so much about extra fat in your body… But it’s Christmas, you can
forget about it for a while!
Here is
how to make authentic norwegian risengrynsgrøt
(a very short video is also available HERE):
Ingredients:
1 cup porridge (medium grain) rice
(Risotto rice will do)
2 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
4-5 cups milk
Cinnamon, sugar and butter (as much
as you wish) for the topping
Preparation:
1. Boil
water and add the rice.
2. Let it
simmer on medium heat for about 10 minutes or until most of the water has been
absorbed by the rice.
3. Pour in
the milk, bringing it back to a boil on medium heat, stirring continually until
you have a creamy consistency. Be sure to “babysit” the pot, since milk has a
tendency to burn before you know it.
4. Cook
until rice has finished expanding and all the milk has been absorbed. The
porridge should be thick by now.
5. Before
serving, add the salt and stir through.
6. When
risengrynsgrøt is done, ladle it onto dinner plates; sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar
mixture with a dollop of butter in the center. As it is served warm, the butter
will melt, and that’s the best part for me!
If this is Christmas Eve porridge, the
host can hide a blanched almond in the porridge during its preparation, and
whoever is lucky enough to find it in their bowl receives a gift.
