Fim
fim do ano.
comigo.
Faz-me lembrar as grávidas quando
lhes perguntamos de quanto tempo estão. “28 semanas”, dizem elas. Ó ‘miga, tá bem, mas isso é o quê? Eles
A sério.

Norwegians (ok, the Scandinavians in general)
have a very weird system of calendar organization. They plan everything... using
week numbers!
I know, I know, we Portuguese also have these
numbers in some calendars. But nobody pays attention to them, right??? Here is
more or less like this:
- When is Easter this year?
- In week 16.
Ok, but what does that mean? End of March,
beginning of April, near Christmas? Seriously, wouldn’t it be much simpler to
say "middle of April"??? Maybe I’d know when Week 1 and Week 52 are.
But more than that is already a little bit risky to arrange things with me.
It reminds me of pregnant women, when we ask
them how long they are in the pregnancy. "28 weeks" they say. Ok, but
again, what does that mean? They’ve made it last for 9 months, so it shouldn’t
be that hard to say "I'm 6 months pregnant". Makes it a lot easier
for us, believe me. That, and also saying that your children are 1 and a half years
old. Because saying that they are 18 months old already requires too many
calculations, and nobody’s gonna be actually hurt for being only 1 year+5
months, or 1 year+7 months. Really.
