Estou dececionada da vida porque
fui a Tromsø e não vi a aurora boreal. Aqui é Tromsø, perto do fim do mundo:
E eu tinha taaanta esperança de
ver as luzinhas verdes! Não fui lá de propósito, mas teria sido bom. Não aconteceu.
Ora porque estava demasiado nublado e chovia, ora porque a lua cheia estava tão
bonita que enchia o céu de luz. Teríamos que sair da cidade, para a escuridão,
e mesmo assim não seria garantido. E por isso não integrámos uma excursão que nos
extorquia 950 coroas – aí uns 100 euros – para sair da cidade durante cinco
horas. Insane!
Ora bem, Tromsø é uma mini-cidade
que se vê numa tarde. Tem uma Universidade, e portanto estudantes, e a aurora
boreal chama imensos turistas – alguns deles ao engano, coitados. É bonita, mas
na minha opinião os hotéis, as construções e os parques de estacionamento
horríveis estão a destruir a essência norueguesa. Ainda assim, a paisagem das
montanhas nevadas a rodear a cidade é espetacular de ver!
Como veem no mapa, fica já para
lá do círculo polar ártico. Honestamente, não sei como é possível viver ali
durante anos a fio. Não que tivesse experienciado o maior frio de todos os
tempos, mas a escuridão do Inverno pode ser engraçada durante três dias, mas
não durante a vida inteira. O céu clareia por 3-4 horas e that’s it! E nem sempre o sol aparece. Aparentemente esteve tímido
durante dois meses – dois meses, minha nossa! Agora é Janeiro e eu vi-o, mas
durante 5 minutos, sem exagero nenhum. “Olha ali o Sol a espreitar na montanha!”;
“Olha, já se foi!”. Que depressão! Nem sequer imagino o Verão, em que, pelo
contrário, o sol não larga o céu. Luz durante TODO o dia. Não sabes quando é
suposto dormir. Não sabes quando é suposto acordar. Isto faria muito mal ao meu
Tico e ao meu Teco, e eu ficaria (mais) tolinha num instante.
Anyway – fantásticos dias em Tromsø e mais uma cidade com um check! √

Sooooo disappointed. I went to Tromsø but couldn’t see
the northern lights. Here is Tromsø, close to the end of the world:
I had so many expectations on this. I didn’t go
there on purpose, but it would have been cool. Didn’t happen. Either because it was too cloudy and
rainy, or the beautiful full moon filled up the sky with too much light. In this
case, we would have to go away from the city, to the darkness, and it wouldn’t
be for granted. That’s why we didn’t want to join a 950 kr tour – around 100
euros – to leave the city for five hours. Insane!
Well, Tromsø is a tiny city that can be seen in
an afternoon. There is a University there, and therefore, students, and the possibility
of seeing the northern lights brings many tourists. It is a pretty city, but in
my opinion all the hotels, constructions and the ugly parking lots are
destroying the Norwegian essence. Still, the white mountains landscape around
the city is wonderful!
As you can see in the map, Tromsø is beyond the
arctic polar circle. Honestly, I don’t know how it is possible to live there
permanently. Not that I’ve experienced the worst cold ever, but the darkness in
the winter can be fun for three days, but not for the entire life. There is
light for 3-4 hours a day and that’s it! And the sun is not always there.
Apparently, it has been shy for two long months – two months, God! Now it is
January and I’ve seen it, during 5 short minutes (not kidding!) “Look, the sun
is peeking right there, behind the mountain!”; “Oh, it’s gone!”. So
depressive. I can’t even
imagine the summer, when, on the contrary, the sun doesn’t leave the sky. Brightness
for the WHOLE day. No one knows
when it is supposed to sleep. No one knows when it is supposed to wake up. That
would definitely make my mind a mess, and I would go crazy very fast(er).
Anyway – great days in Tromsø and one more city checked!
