Se já olharam para o mapa da
Noruega com atenção (tenho a certeza que siiiiiim!), veem o quão recortadinha
ela é. O mar entra (bem) dentro de terra e juntos formam paisagens lindíssimas
– não é por acaso que este é o país dos fiordes. E ao olhar para o mapa
percebem também que há um milhão de pequenas ilhas mesmo ao lado da costa. Junto
a Oslo não é exceção:
Há barcos a sair frequentemente
de um porto em Aker Brygge (aqui em
Oslo) para estas ilhas. A viagem demora pouco tempo e o melhor de tudo é que
para algumas se pode usar o mesmo cartão que se usa para andar nos transportes
dentro da cidade. Portanto a qualquer altura do ano, em qualquer dia da semana
podemos lembrar-nos e: “Bora ali à ilha”. Prático, fácil e barato. Ir à ilha,
voltar da ilha, ficar na ilha como o Tom Hanks. O que se quiser.
A maior de todas é a Hovedøya. Øya significa “a ilha” e hove significa “cabeça”. Neste caso é
como se fosse “a ilha líder”, talvez por ser a maior aqui perto, ou a mais
próxima da cidade, não sei.
Quando se vai a Hovedøya, vai-se
para se passar um bom dia (principalmente se o tempo estiver bom). Fazer
caminhadas, ir à praia ou ficar estendido na relva a apanhar um solzinho, fazer
um piquenique, gastar um dinheirão no bar que lá há, o que se quiser! Não há
muito para ver, mas há muito para relaxar. E, dependendo em que parte da ilha
estamos, temos vista para a cidade, para as outras ilhas, para as casinhas à
beira-fiorde, ou para os pequenos barcos que por ali andam sempre.

If you look carefully on the map, you realize that
a (huge!) bunch of islands decorate the norwegian coast. More than that, the
sea pacifically invades the land, creating beautiful (really B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L)
landscapes – there is a reason why this is “the country of the fjords”. This is
also true around Oslo.
Boats leave often from the harbor at Aker Brygge (here in Oslo) to some of
these islands. It’s a short trip and the best of all is that you can use the
regular public transportation card to travel to some of them. This means that
who’s living or visiting Oslo can, at any time, feel like in the mood to “take
a break and go to the island”. Practical, easy and cheap. Travelling to the
island, travelling back from the island, staying at the island as Tom Hanks did
if you wish.
The biggest one nearby is Hovedøya. Øya means “the island” while hove means “head”. In this case, it’s
like Hovedøya is “the leader island”, maybe because it’s the biggest around, or
the closest to the city. I don´t know.
When you go to Hovedøya, you aim to spend a
relaxing day (especially if the weather is nice). Walking, going to the beach,
or simply laying on the grass to sun bath a little bit. Making a picnic, spending
a lot of money at the (only) bar the island has to offer, whatever you like. There
is not much to see, but there’s a lot to relax. And depending on the part of
the island we walk through, we have a view to the city, to the other islands,
to the cabins by the fjord, or even to the small boats always drifting around.
